Bluegrass G Run

Bluegrass guitar plays a rhythmic "chop" (muted downstroke on beats 2 and 4) behind fiddles and banjos, plus lead "G runs" — melodic fills using open strings. In G major: G–C–G–D7–G. The characteristic G run is a descending melodic phrase that fills the space at the end of a musical phrase. Fast, driving, and very American.
