Travis Picking in G

Travis picking (named after Merle Travis) is an alternating bass-note fingerpicking style where the thumb alternates between two bass strings while the fingers pick melody or inner voices. In G: G–Em–C–D. The hypnotic alternating bass creates a one-guitar sound that mimics piano left-hand (bass) + right-hand (melody). Essential for folk, country, and fingerstyle guitarists.
