Folk Waltz in D (3/4)

The folk waltz in 3/4 time has a lilting, dance-like feel. In D major: D–G–A7–D. The three-beat measure gives the music a gentle rocking quality — one strong beat followed by two lighter beats. Traditional folk songs, waltzes, and many Celtic tunes use this form. The bass-strum-strum pattern (boom-chuck-chuck) is fundamental.
