Major Turnaround (I–VI–ii–V) in C
Jazz4/46 vistas
The major I–VI–ii–V is the bread and butter of jazz comping. In C: Cmaj7–A7–Dm7–G7. The A7 (VI7) acts as a secondary dominant pulling to Dm7, creating a smooth descending bass line (C–A–D–G). This pattern appears in the A sections of countless jazz standards and is the foundation of jazz accompaniment.
