Jazz Turnaround (iii–VI–ii–V) in C
Jazz4/44 vistas
The jazz turnaround is a four-chord sequence used to lead back to the top of a form. In C: Em7–A7–Dm7–G7. Each chord is either a ii–V or a secondary dominant relationship: Em7→A7 is a ii–V in D minor, and Dm7→G7 is the ii–V in C. This chain of dominants creates irresistible forward motion. A must-know for anyone playing standards.
