Reggae One-Drop in A
Reggae4/46 views
The reggae "one-drop" rhythm is named for the absence of any emphasis on beat 1 — the drum drops on beats 2 and 4, while the guitar plays the characteristic "skank" on the off-beats ("ands" of each beat). In A: A–D–E–A. Simple I–IV–V harmony lets the rhythmic feel be the star. Bob Marley used this feel constantly.
